The company was founded in 1991 by the late Org Rautenbach, from which the company name was derived. Org qualified as a mechanical engineer in 1975 at the university of Pretoria, and later developed the range of Orbach V-belt driven drum mowers, that was specifically build for tough African conditions.

These robust mowers put Orbach Agri on the map, and the brand has been established since then. Many of these drum mowers today are still runnig, some more than 25 years old! Org was a wonderful person, and his presence is deerly missed today. But his legacy lives on. After his passing in 2015, his two sons Erik and Hannes took over the reigns, and expanded the range of products drastically. Orbach partnered with top European manufacturers.

Many products are now also imported, and some components are manufactured locally at the Orbach factory. Today, Orbach Agri offers complete haymaking solutions, including mowers, balers, rakes, moisture meters, front en loaders and many more. In 2017, a range of tillage equipment was also added. Our disc harrows and chisel ploughs are very popular in the local market.
